Maya H Benning-Codina

Coach

As a dedicated mental health and counseling professional, I hold a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and a Bachelor’s in Psychology. I am a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, committed to providing comprehensive therapeutic services.

In my private practice, MBC Clinical Counseling and Vocational Services, I specialize in clinical mental health counseling, addressing sex addiction, betrayal trauma, and related issues. My approach integrates evidence-based therapies with a deep understanding of human behavior, aiming to foster healing and personal growth. I am trained in IFS/Parts Work modalities, addiction and trauma recovery, and EFT. I used an integrative approach to therapy, and pull from Gestalt, Perls, and Frankl therapies. I am a big fan of the Bercaw’s and the Gottman methods.

Expanding my expertise, I have completed training in mediation, including the Collaborative Divorce Illinois program, and am pursuing membership with Collaborative Divorce Illinois and the Center for Conflict Resolution. This allows me to mediate disputes across various settings, facilitating constructive resolutions.

Beyond my practice, I am deeply committed to supporting survivors of sex trafficking. Volunteering and working with New Name and Refuge for Women, I lead group sessions and provide individual counseling within residential facilities, assisting survivors on their recovery journey and lead an outreach team approaching women in vulnerable spaces who are victims of sex trafficking crimes.

My diverse qualifications and experiences reflect a holistic approach to counseling and conflict resolution, underscoring my dedication to empowering individuals and fostering community well-being.
